PSL guarantees powerful action against corruption

Corruption in any field cause severe destruction and it brings unimaginable insult and embarrassed situation to the whole nation. With the same situation our Pakistan Super League (PSL) is facing because of its two players Sharjeel Khan and Khalid Latif of Islamabad United team. However, PCB and other PSL managements are very firm and determined to resolve corruption issues and to make PSL a clean corruption free league. Regarding recent corruption issue, Pakistan’s cricket officials stated that they would make Sharjeel Khan and Khalid Latif an exampe infront of everyone if any of them found accountable during a corruption investigation that is dangerous for the existence of PSL or that is trying to put an end to PSL.

The Sharjeel and Latif duo was suspended after being charges of meeting suspicious person that was involved with internation gambling group. Thie act can cause them a lifetime ban from international as well as from domestic cricket according to PCB rules for corruption. According to PCB chief Shahryar Khan, crciekt board officials are looking for some preventive sentence for the two players of Islamabad United, in case they are found accountable of spot-fixing. PCB is also strongly determined to take very tough stand to make players alert of consequences of such illegal activities. They are planning to punish them hard to make other players think that they can’t furthure pursue their career after getting involved in corruption activities. Previously, players normally have perception regarding punishment that it would be a ban for just four to five years, but this time, PCB is planning something strong that can teach lifetime lesson to all players.

Back in the year 2010, three players Mohammad Amir, Salman Butt and Mohammad Asif were also caught involved in spot-fixing and they completed their five years ban that ended in September 2016. They were involved in spot-fixing scandal in Lord’s Test against England. After returning of Mohammad Amir in International cricket, Pakistan is facing very rigorous criticism from everyone. Therefore, this time PCB officials are planning to give players lifetime lesson so that they can never even think about doing such act. PCB chairman also expressed his frustration on the accusations that Latif and Sharjeel are denying and their impact on PSL that is just in its second year. According to him as whole nation is extremely interested in PSL, therefore, any cases that will bringdisgrace is very disappointing.

Besides these two players, other three players Mohammad irfan, Zulfiqar Babar and Shahzaib Hasan were also investigated intensively. After this thorough inquiry, Hasan and Babar have been declared clear while Irfan will be further investigated.
